KEN’s history

A company with old traditions

KEN Hygiene Systems A/S was established in 1941 by Kaj E. Nielsen. During its first years, it sold mixers, mainly to big kitchens on large-scale farms. From 1942 onwards, it produced potato-peeling machines, sold to the same customer segment.

Washing machines have since been KEN´s principal product, supplemented in 1971 by disinfecting washers for hospitals and laboratories.
During the same period, a network of service fitters was established, which still ensures the continuous opration of KEN machines.

In order to avoid future problems resulting from the change of generations, Kaj E. Nielsen set up a fund that took over the entire shareholding in KEN in 1987.

Via sales companies in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, as well as dealers in many other countries, KEN now offers complete solutions for CSSDs, utility rooms, food & pharma industry and industrial kitchen.
